Recent Hunt Huge Success!

Posted in Uncategorized on November 29th, 2011 by admin

We recently made a trip to Stone Creek Hunting in Edgar Springs, Missouri for a Dream Hunt for a young man by the name of Taylor Lohmann. Upon arrival, we made sure that Taylor’s rifle was shooting correctly and then headed out to the blind for the afternoon. Due to the high winds, the deer were bedded and we only saw 3 doe right at last light.

The next morning the wind was still a factor and at around 9, those same 3 doe entered the field again. After watching them feed for about 20 minutes, Taylor said, “There’s two bucks.” Both were 8 pointers but one was a mature buck that was a little wider and he proved to be the dominant buck after watching the two spar off and on for the better part of 20 minutes. After Taylor had made the choice to take the mature buck, we had him practice putting the crosshairs on his shoulder to help steady his nerves. He was then given the green light once the buck had turned broadside and the shot rang out and the buck took a dirt nap!

We want to personally thank those that helped to make this a great hunt. We want to thank StormKloth II for the donation of the camouflage, Dennis Outdoors in Poplar Bluff Missouri for their donation of a rifle, scope, ammunition and gun case. We also want to thank Justin Hoffman at Stone Creek Hunting in Edgar Springs Missouri for hosting this hunt and their donation of the meals, lodging and processing.

On the way home, we stopped at the taxidermist to drop off Taylor’s deer to be mounted for him. We also want to personally thank Bobby Shipman at Full Draw Taxidermy in Dexter Missouri for his donation of the taxidermy work!

It takes alot of cooperation from many individuals to make these hunts a success. From Perry County Sportsman’s Club, who did the fundraiser, to the donation of camouflage, securing the location for the hunt, donation of the rifle and ammunition and taxidermy services once it was successful. Dream Pursuit is in need of monetary (cash) donations, inkind donations (goods and services), outfitters/guides and taxidermists to make these adventures become a reality. Should you wish to help us raise money, donate a hunting or fishing trip or contribute through taxidermy services, please contact us by the number list in the “contact us” tab of our website. Thanks for reading and God Bless!

Dream Pursuit Dream Hunt this weekend!

Posted in Uncategorized on November 23rd, 2011 by admin

We are packing our bags and all the video equipment and will be headed to Edgar Springs Missouri for a Dream Hunt. Special thanks to Justin Hoffman at Stone Creek Hunting Ranch for helping us out with this hunt. This 13 yr old young man has been diagnosed with Auto Immune Disease and Hypoparathyrodism. We will be going after a whitetail buck for the first couple of days and might change gears to an axis deer before we wrap up on Sunday. Looking forward to a great time with him and his family and will hopefully be posting some new pictures of a successful harvest……….stay tuned!!

Fundraiser “Huge” success

Posted in Uncategorized on October 15th, 2011 by admin

I would like to personally thank Kevin and Laura Hayden, Perry County Sportsman Club, Perry County Sportsman Club Womens Auxiliary and everyone else that helped to put the Dream Pursuit fundraiser together! What a great bunch of people that worked really hard to make this event a “huge” success. We more than doubled the original figure that we thought would be raised and the event was well attended for it’s first year!!

Perry County Sportsman Club is an awsome organization with a bunch of great people and generous hearts. We can’t say thanks enough!!

I would also like to thank Jimmy (Shaggy) Cantrell and Darrin Johnson for putting the Twin Bridges event together! These two worked really hard to put this together. It was a great time for everyone and we had a blast in spite of the rain! They are still putting the final numbers together to see how things will come together here. I never saw Shaggy in so many places at the same time…..ha!

Missouri Dove Season

Posted in Uncategorized on September 3rd, 2011 by admin

Missouri dove season just came in on September 01 and according to everyone that I have talked to, it’s taking them a little longer to get their limit. From what I could tell by driving around some of my old hunting spots, there seems to be a lot of birds but due to the amount of rain that we had in our area, most crops were planted late and nothing is being harvested. Should prove to be an interesting season and I will be waiting to see how the numbers rank according to the Missouri Department of Conservation.

Has anyone else’s season started yet? If so how is it going in your area??
